Did you know that right now, there are 13.7 million cancer survivors living in the U.S. today? This past Sunday, cancer survivors across the country came together to celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day. This whole month is dedicated to celebrating those who have combated the disease, inspire those who were recently diagnosed with it and support families who have been affected by cancer. It’s a month entirely dedicated to spreading awareness, and there are a few ways that you can help!
- Participate in a walk. It’s summer time, and several organizations that are dedicated to spreading awareness about cancer are hosting walks in order to raise money for their individual cause. No matter what kind of cancer you or a loved one has, chances are you can find a walk for it in your area. These present great opportunities to raise money for cancer research and show your support for an amazing call.
- Find some survivor swag. We offer a number of cancer survivor t-shirts, sweatshirts and other apparel items. These will both show support for a cause near and dear to your heart and serve as an inspiration to those around you. You fought the battle with cancer and won! That’s something to be proud of and is motivating to the people around you.
- Get your family and friends involved. The best way to spread awareness about a cause is to get the people you know to support it with you! Create a walking team for the next walk you participate in, put together a fundraiser or simply get them to spread the word on your behalf. It’s amazing how much awareness you can spread if you work in a group.
